It is almost certainly going to work until it breaks although I have to admit it may never work and that would be sad.Remember, like with all of my work, I am able to provide the following assurance(s): Shift CtrlV: insert-selection(PRIMARY) \n\ Shift CtrlV: insert-selection(CLIPBOARD) \n\ Shift CtrlC: copy-selection(CLIPBOARD) \n\ ! Normal cut & paste key conventions ( ctrl-shift c/v ) Xterm*font: xft:DejaVu Sans Mono:size=11.5:antialias=true !xterm escape codes, word by word movement ! Normal copy-paste keybindings ( ctrl-shift c/v )

#Xterm vs pterm code#
xterm and/or URxvt and things should work.īelow is my code snippet (Note: the colors I use are from the Nordic Theme replace them with your favorite color scheme.) ! Nordic Color scheme.a compositor like xcompgr or picom/compton (If not, you will need one to run in order to get transparency on URxvt.).Xresources file in $Home, Logout & Login. There are no code patches, such as are required for st (suckless terminal). I find screens are easier on my old eyes without transparency. xterm-left ~ URxvt-right on dwm with xcompmgrįWIW: I tend to use xterm these days, I don’t run a compositor. Here is a scrot of my terminals (xcompmgr is running for URxvt transparency).
#Xterm vs pterm windows#
This is very useful for people who work a lot on the terminal and don't want to spend time navigating between different windows or tabs. The most important reason people chose Konsole is: Konsole supports split-view which splits the window into two (or more) konsole instances. xterm is not really easily fixable with respect to transparency, but URxvt is fixable (see below code snippet). Konsole is ranked 9th while xterm is ranked 14th.

Here’s a list of the xterm & URxvt ‘vanilla version’ downsides (my opinion): The ‘thing’ that scares most people away from these tiny terminals is out of the box they are both ugly and follow some non-conventional approaches. If you are interested in small footprint, low resource use terminals, there are few skinnier than xterm and URxvt.
